Dr Naoki Yago is a Lecturer in Finance at the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading. He joined the ICMA Centre in September 2025. He has a PhD in economics from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Economics and a BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo.

Naoki’s research interests are macroeconomics, international macro and finance, monetary economics, and macro-finance. His research focuses on how shocks or crises in one country are transmitted internationally, and how central banks can stabilize the exchange rate and protect countries from spillovers.
