Moustafa holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Eng in Energy Systems Engineering from University College Dublin (UCD). He also obtained an MSc. in Energy and Environmental Finance from Smurfit Business School (UCD).
His previous role was as a Graduate Engineer for Elgin Energy, where his worked involved the development of solar farms and hybrid power plants as well as locating available grid capacity.
Moustafa is currently pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Alfonso Dufour and Dr. Andreas Hoepner. He is looking at the impacts of emissions and climate metrics on financial products.
