Georgi is the Global Head of Fundamental Research at Marex Ltd., a leading financial services firm headquartered in the City of London. His team is responsible for the research and analysis of all key energy, basic materials, agricultural and industrial transportation markets.
Georgi is a former Navy officer with Engineering and Economics degrees. He is a member of the Business Advisory Committee at the ICMA Graduate Centre, Henley Business School, and a guest lecturer at the graduate school.
Georgi is a published author by Incisive Media/Risk Books in the field of shipping derivatives markets and a co-author of the award-winning academic paper on algorithmic electricity trading from the Commodities and Energy Markets Association in 2018. His team of analysts also won the “Commodity Research House of the Year 2020" and "Weather Research House of the Year 2021" awards from Energy Risk Magazine.
Georgi holds a PhD in Finance from the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, a part of the University of Reading. His research was focused on the drivers of price formation and predictive properties of the forward curve, geographical distance, trade flow, and currency markets for global commodity trading under the supervision of Professor George Alexandridis and Professor Marcel Prokopczuk.
