Bin Xu is a Professor of Finance and Accounting at Henley Business School, University of Reading.
Before joining Henley, Bin held the Chair in Sustainable Finance and served as Departmental Director of Research at the University of Leeds.
His research lies primarily in corporate finance and sustainable finance. His recent research explores how corporate decisions and outcomes are influenced by various stakeholders (e.g., major customers, government, analysts, short sellers, competitors) and managerial incentives, as well as the consequences of corporate disclosures. His research has been published in reputable academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking and Finance. His work has been featured in outlets such as Harvard Business Review and the Columbia Law School's Blog.
He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting
and is an associate editor of the International Journal of Finance and Economics and the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal.
He has experience teaching a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD courses (e.g., Corporate Finance, International Business Finance, Financial Reporting and Analysis, and Empirical Methods for Accounting and Finance Research). He received the QUB Rising Star Teaching Award in 2017.
