In the broad subject area of social sciences and management, which includes Henley’s subjects, the University of Reading jumped 78 places to rank 183 in the world and 24 in the UK.

Business and Management Studies programmes at Henley are performing in the world top quartile and are ranked 134 in the world (up from 146 last year), and 21 in the UK, an increase of five places from last year.

Henley’s Accounting and Finance programmes also continue to perform well, ranking 101-150 in the world and joint 17 in the UK.

The QS rankings also includes a global reputational evaluation – academic reputation and employer reputation – in which Henley Business School attracts a high number of nominations for the quality of its research and graduates. Henley has seen some significant gains in the Employer Reputation score, increasing its score for a third year in a row.

Professor Elena Beleska-Spasova, Dean of Henley Business School, said:

“This is a world-class achievement and we’re so proud that our work has been recognised yet again by QS. It highlights our unwavering commitment to excellence, high-quality teaching and research, and I’d like to thank faculty, staff and students for all of their hard work in maintaining such high standards.”

The QS rankings cover a total of 55 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas: social sciences and management; natural sciences; life sciences and medicine; engineering and technology and arts and humanities.

The QS World University Rankings by subject are based on measures of academic reputation, the employability of graduates as rated by employers, and citations for published work.

The University of Reading’s overall ranking is 169 in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2024.
