The SWIFT Institute Student Challenge 2019 is an exciting annual competition organised by the SWIFT Institute – a global institution that fosters research and disseminates knowledge and information about the financial services industry.

This year’s challenge is “How can Artificial Intelligence improve fraud detection and prevention in instant payments?”

The programme for the event is as follows (tentative and subject to adjustments):

  • Introduction and welcome
  • Introduction to the SWIFT Institute and the competition theme (Nancy Murphy, Assistant Director of SWIFT Institute)
  • Short talk: Instant payment systems and fraud detection (Emeritus Professor Brian Scott-Quinn, ICMA Centre )
  • Competition rules and how to apply
  • Q&A

Please come along to the session to find out more about the competition, or just to learn about the challenges in fraud detection in instant payment systems.
