As a Naval Fighter Pilot, Matthew knows how to deliver under huge stress and pressure, and has shown high resilience by learning from mistakes and communicating well with his team. He uses his experience to train and inspire other people to work well in similar circumstances.
In his talk, you will discover his incredible journey to become a Naval Fighter Pilot, then the Senior Flying Instructor at the UK “Top Gun” school, and finally as a low level supersonic jet display pilot performing in front of ten’s of thousands of people.
This is a story of trust, resilience, fulfilling your ambitions, and the mind set for elite team performance.
Matthew is now a Leadership Coach and speaker, working with ambitious MDs, CEOs and their executive teams, such as the Bank of England. Find out more about Matthew on LinkedIn.
Industry Insights is the ICMA Centre’s annual programme of talks and debates, giving students the opportunity to hear industry thought leaders discuss the forces and trends that are shaping the world of finance.
We welcome speakers form a range of backgrounds and across financial services disciplines – what they all have in common is a unique perspective on the industry that goes beyond conventional thinking.
After each talk we open the bar in the ICMA Centre and there is an opportunity for networking. Organised in conjunction with the University of Reading Finance Society, the talks are free of charge and open to all students and academics at Henley Business School and the University.
