Before joining Oxford, Mungo was a visiting lecturer at London School of Economics and an assistant professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 2004.

Castle is a Tutorial Fellow in Economics at Magdalen College, and since 2022 she has been serving as the Director of Climate Econometrics at Nuffield College (where she obtained her PhD in Economics ) and Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, at the University of Oxford.
