From 2010-2012 he was a lecturer on the undergraduate economics course at Cass. In 2011 he was a Jerome Chazen visiting scholar at Columbia Business School, USA and a Visiting Fellow at Yale University, USA. He is currently a research associate at the LSE Financial Markets Group (FMG) and is currently working with Cambridge University and Yale University. His research focus is economic history, particularly on asset bubbles and asset pricing during the 1920s and 1930s.

Castle is a Tutorial Fellow in Economics at Magdalen College, and since 2022 she has been serving as the Director of Climate Econometrics at Nuffield College (where she obtained her PhD in Economics ) and Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, at the University of Oxford.
