Options Workshop

Programme Director: Dr Michael Smith

By the end of the programme, through the workshop approach, delegates will have a deep intuitive understanding of the pricing, hedging and trading of financial options. The derivatives industry impacts on all sectors of investment banking, and whether or not delegates are currently pursuing a career in derivatives trading/sales/research, they will find this programme extremely useful. The overriding philosophy of the programme is: ‘learning by doing’.

FTS Trader™, developed by Carnegie Mellon University, is a case study based pricing and trading platform that gives delegates the opportunity to trade on their own prices. Chisholm Roth London’s RiskManager™, allows delegates to trade volatility and direction as option market makers, whilst managing the risk of the options book (delta, gamma, vega) in a dynamic news led environment. Options Strategist™ is an Excel based analysis package, which shows delegates how to analyse the time/risk
dynamics of an options portfolio.
