Careers and Graduate Destinations

The ICMA Centre offers the full range of career advisory and professional development services to all its students. Our mission is to ensure that everyone who chooses to study at the ICMA Centre is well placed to obtain a challenging job after graduation. Through the Career Development Unit we provide the highly focused support that is especially important to all aspiring professionals in the extremely competitive Investment banking and securities industries. In addition, participants in all of our Programmes benefit from a series of workshops designed to develop the key interpersonal skills that are sought by all major employers.

The Career Development Unit is staffed by financial sector professionals with specialist experience of graduate recruitment and development.


Close Links with Industry

We maintain close links with the investment banking community and programme participants are able to attend presentations by market practitioners and alumni working within the banking and securities industries. Students are encouraged to develop an informed opinion of the career opportunities available, enabling them to identify the types of jobs and functions where they are most likely to excel.

Specialist Research Facilities

Specialist career research facilities are provided to students; the Centre’s career resource area contains a wide range of information on prospective employers and recruitment literature. It offers a selection of financial sector journals, industry directories, course material and past examination questions for professional associations and regulatory licenses. Internet access for job search purposes is readily available in the Centre.
