Biography
Silvia obtained the MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking at the ICMA Centre, ranking the first in her class. She previously graduated from the University of Reading with a BSc in Business Economics with the highest overall average in the last 40 years. Silvia also holds a BSc in Banking and Finance from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. She participated and won various prizes in numerous mathematics and physics competitions; she is one of the founding members of a scientific society at Carol I National College in Craiova, Romania. Silvia is currently pursuing her PhD under the joint supervision of Professor Carol Alexander and Miss Emese Lazar in the area of volatility modelling with applications to financial risk management.
